5 Ways Legal Weed Could Make New Jersey a Better Place to Be
With New Jersey projected to make some $300 million in revenue once its recreational market gets up and running, taxes are the most obvious benefit accompanying legalization. But Gov. Phil Murphy and many advocates say the additional income isn't the primary driver of legal weed.
"First and foremost, this is a social justice issue," Murphy said earlier this year. "We have the widest white, non-white gap of persons incarcerated in America. It's not the only reason, but a big reason is low-end drug crimes."
