This really is wrong to push out without the proper context around the particular remarks. He undoubtedly is pushing it without context to drive up traffic, but doing so unfairly and inappropriately maligns the target of his tweet.
The Democrats smeared Russ Vought, the current head of OMB, because Vought is a Christian and wrote in defense of his Christian alma mater that the Christian institution had the right to require of its faculty and students a belief in orthodox Christian beliefs.
Bernie Sanders and the left took that as an anti-Muslim attack. All Vought did was defend a Christian institution's right to remain bound by Christian orthodoxy. You can read his piece for yourself. Russ wrote it here.
That Costa has chosen to treat the Democrat smear as fact and spread it against Vought is damnable thing and he should apologize. His tweet strips away all the context of Vought's remarks -- namely that he was writing in defense of a Christian institution being Christian. Costa's tweet suggests Vought has some sort of bigoted animus against Muslims instead of noting Vought was defending a Christian institution.
As an aside, there is increasingly a movement within the Democrat Party to vote against any who profess orthodox Christian beliefs in public. Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein have announced their opposition to members of the Catholic charitable groups and Sanders insisted Russ Vought reject the orthodox Christian belief that Jesus is the only path to salvation.
Instead of slandering Christians, perhaps Costa should denounce Democrats violating the constitutional prohibition on religious tests.
