She then attacked the conservative movement for being hypocritical for wanting to control a woman’s body.
This is the same child who went on The Daily Show and labeled herself a millennial to declare that she does not like labels. This is the same enfant terrible who occasionally describes herself as a libertarian while supporting various big government programs. Despite the chemical agents used in her hair to brighten it, it is safe to say Tomi Lahren is not the brightest star in the sky.
Honestly though, the most troubling aspect of this is seeing people argue that abortion rights advocacy has a place in the conservative movement. Ironically, a number of people who believe Donald Trump is dragging the conservative movement to the left are willing to argue abortion rights have a place in the conservative movement.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Abortion is the destruction of a precious, innocent human life. It may be necessary when that life verges on causing the mother to die. But as a matter of elective options and rights, abortion is murder. The arguments for abortion are the same arguments used to justify and defend slavery. Abortion advocacy, in fact, derives from the progressive movement’s desire to stamp out black and disabled people in the early part of the twentieth century.
The conservative movement’s foundation is based on support for the unalienable, God given rights of life, liberty, and private property. Life is not property. Life is sacred and innocent life is to be protected. To the extent government advocates social behavior, the behavior government should encourage is married couples creating stable, two parent nuclear households as such households then create the most stable and productive citizens.
Stamping out life does not promote stable and productive citizens. It eradicates them and their potential from existence.
Some people like to call themselves conservatives when they are really libertarians or libertines. Either of those could arguably support abortion rights. Likewise, some members of the Republican Party might support abortion rights. But conservatism cannot. If you claim to be a conservative who supports abortion rights, please find a new movement to join. Those of you who support the ripping apart of children in the name of “choice” are not welcome in the conservative movement.
