John Bolton Replacing H.R. McMaster

John Bolton has a grown up view of the world and that is a good thing.

I am a John Bolton fan. He values precision and clarity at a time when our foreign policy still seems nebulous. He has a connection and relationship with the President at a level where the President might actually listen to him. John Bolton is no fan of Russia and, should the President listen to him, we might stop acting like children as a nation when it comes to Russia. Bolton hates communists, so perhaps he will be more strident in dealing with China, North Korea, and Cuba. Bolton hates the Iran deal so perhaps we can be rid of it.

John Bolton will be clarifying in terms of this President's goals in the national security space and Bolton will not shy away from fights. He will be willing to wage war on a bureaucratic element that often seem to want to obfuscate and muddy things.

I do have one concern though. Bolton has never struck me as someone afraid to go to war. And I'd prefer someone afraid of war who is willing to fight than one who is just ready to get on with it. A number of my friends who know more about the national security space than me are convinced that Bolton at the National Security Council will just escalate any timetables for war. I don't know about that, but I do respect their opinion on the matter.

What I do know is that Bolton is an adult who hates communists and we need one of those around the President right now.

I am afraid that it will end with a good mans reputation being ruined by an institutionalized corrupion presidency.

Sooner or later we will face the choice between North Korea demanding more of a bribe than we are willing to pay, or some level of conflict (be it a blockade, airstrikes, or actual war)...

Kipling had it right when he wrote about Britain's experience with Vikings & Danegeld.

I am afraid too many people the United States, myself included, are dreadfully attached to their creature comforts. By and large, our government and cultural elites do not get their values from the Bible, and there is much confusion among the rank and file, those who are called to serve in wars. There was a Vietnam War protest song, "It's one, two, three, what are we fighting for?" Let's pray for our country, and be assured that God in Jesus Christ saves His elect, from the four corners of the world, and then comes God's judgment and the end of time.

Issues of the day, Bolton and the spending bill. Trump had control over firing McMaster and hiring Bolton. The spending bill came out of the swamp or deep state. It was a bill from the RINOs and establishment. The whole Republican party is being blamed when there are eight to ten that will cause a one vote defeat, based on the issue. Each of these ten will attack one principle of the Republican Party. Our founding fathers allowed for a veto th at required a 2/3 vote to override.. With the present congress Trump could have an endless string of votes as this majority could not be reached. Trump would not gain if a override was accomplished. No bill we get a shutdown for indefinite period of time. Trump needs support in 2018 to reduce the number of RINOs, establishment and obstructionist Democrats.
