If Democrats Walk, Vote on Kavanaugh Today

There is no reason for formal hearings if the Democrats walk out. Confirm Kavanaugh today.

This is all theater. The Democrats are screaming about documents they did not see that they did not formally request. They came out before Kavanaugh was nominated and said they've vote against him. All of this is a show for their base. None of it is serious. They know they cannot stop him. Now they are planning a walk out of the committee.

If Democrats walk out of the committee hearing on Brett Kavanaugh, the GOP should just short-circuit the whole theater and vote to confirm him today in committee. They should just send him straight to the floor. Democrats will have shown they have no real interest in vetting Kavanaugh. Spare the country the nonsensical kabuki theater and let's get this over with. Send Kavanaugh's nomination to the floor of the Senate today and start the debate clock.

Kavanaugh is going to be the next Supreme Court Justice. Just speed up the process.

Some Republicans believe Kavanaugh will be a conservative justice. He will not. Look at his past rulings and his words from past interviews. He is going to be the swing vote just like Kennedy. So there is nothing to lose for the Democrats.

Yes, yes, let's speed up the process of removing any remaining pieces of what we knew as our country when we were growing up. Let's just vote through the candidate without any discussion. Let's vote through the candidate without any exposition to the American people. Let's jam someone on the court without any sense of trying to achieve any measure of acceptability to both sides in a narrowly divided country.

And later on let's lament how divided we are as a country and wonder why.

When the pendulum swings as it inevitably does in politics, it's going to be ugly.

Also why should he be confirmed when Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator? The current congress is lame duck - shouldn't the next round get to pick? I mean, what's fair is fair - right?

They don't have the numbers for quorum if the Dems walk. You know this.
