I Do Not Care About John Brennan

This is an overblown story of no consequence to either the Republic or your life.

John Brennan, at the height of the Cold War, voted for the Communist Party candidate for President. He claims it was a protest against the corrupt system in Washington. Brennan seems to go left when he wants to protest. Why is that relevant?

Well, during the Age of Trump a lot of people like to say that character is what you do when no one is looking. John Brennan voted for the Commie when no one was looking during an era of Soviet expansionism. Character is what you do when no one is looking.

He went left against Trump and has undoubtedly been a source for various anti-Trump stories. So the President has, symbolically, yanked his clearance.

I do not care.

The media seems to be operating under the assumption that the former CIA Director could use his status as a non-partisan attack dog against the President when he is actually a partisan. The President pushed back and the media is screaming about it.

I suspect a good bit of the screaming has to do with, at a minimum, the perception that they'll be cut off from gossip some might have felt comfortable sharing with Brennan while he had his security clearance.

This really is not a big story. Brennan says he was not getting classified briefings. This will affect his life not at all. It will affect the nation not at all. It will not affect your life in any way, shape, or form.

It is just another story designed to foment outrage at the President and there is vastly more important stuff going on in the world than this.

The danger is that security clearances of all political appointees will start being automatically revoked whenever the opposing party comes to power. The benefit to people retaining their clearances is so transition/continuity may continue after the new administration comes in. Which does have some non-partisan, and national security, elements to it.

But, the "tragedy" of this one man, being milked for clickbait by CNN and every other news agency, is beyond pointless.

Personaly I don't like or trust Brennan. I think he is on the edge of mis-use of office for political favor. That being said he is not the best example and that may be why he was chosen for the test of will anyone care about the latest in abuse of power to cover up a life time of crime continuing into the white house because the Trump crime family may be the only family more corrupt than the Clintons. I think we are going to be made to care about folks we really do not like because the criminal abuse of the presidency is just getting started. The cover up for the crimes allready discovered is only going to intensify until only the most base worshipers of the criminal will remain loyal. Another couple of years from Don the con and anyone in the phone book who can breath in a mirror and fog the glass will be an improvement.

Even if you have a security clearance, it doesn't mean that you can just walk into the Pentagon and ask to see classified information and then sell it to newspapers or whatever people think Brennan was doing.

Look Brennan is the poster boy for the phonies that put their political interests and power above the oath of office. Then they cloth their ambitions in the importance of the agency or function. This is all BS. None of these people make the world go round. So it is necessary to remind people like him that his crap stinks too.
