The Left Goes Full Fascist on Susan Collins

Threats of rape, bribery and extortion: Just another day in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation saga.

Susan Collins, the Republican Senator from Maine, has long been a source of consternation for conservatives. Proud of her reputation as a middle-of-the-roader, she has made a habit of decrying what she sees as the more “extreme” elements of the GOP—in other words, those who actually want to roll back the left-wing agenda—and has thwarted everything from defunding Obamacare to defunding Planned Parenthood. So it only stands to reason that if any Republican might jump ship in voting to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Collins is Prospect Numero Uno—which should make her the target of a charm offensive from the Left like nobody has ever seen, right?

Um, not exactly:

Instead of courting Collins with sweet, sweet talk of moderation and unity, the agitator class has decided to go with rape fantasies and forced pregnancy. So much for taking the high road. In fact, this particular road is so low that if these Brown Shirts masquerading as activists got lost on their way to the next protest, they’d have to pull over and ask Beelzebub for directions.

But what else do you expect from the Modem Left? It’s amazing how a group of people who claim to be so passionate about women’s rights think nothing of using the terror of rape to threaten their opponents. I’ve often thought that inside the heart of a hardened leftist is a little totalitarian struggling to get out—but it seems there’s a latent misogynist as well, who feels safe and secure in venting all his rage against women in general, so long the object of his anger is a conservative or a Republican.

This isn’t activism. This is just garden-variety fascism.

No, it’s more pathetic than even that—it’s wannabe fascism.

And it should be dealt with, as America has dealt with fascism before: by kicking it squarely in the ass. Here’s hoping that Senator Collins hangs tough and acts accordingly.

Just think. There are Americans out there that will cast a vote for a democrat candidate! I just don't understand. We are finally seeing who this group of criminals really are. Their true nature. The curtain has been pulled back and there are still people with indoctrinated blindness will cast their vote for them!

These types of articles really bug me. Anytime you try and paint a whole half of America as evil using the actions of a few is an evil in itself.

This is seriously dishonest, people.

After decades of fighting to get anti-abortion justices on the Supreme Court--most recently making a power bargain with a man whose wife modeled a nude lesbian scene--the argument coming from lots of Republicans is that the issue over which they have traded every other Earthly value is suddenly not a value to them.

Who do you all think you are fooling?

And doesn't it bother you that the other side is perfectly honest about what they want?

Dear Mr. Moore, you obviously forgot to take your meds this morning. You have no idea whether the people pressuring Senator Collins comes from her state or as so often happens from groups who could care less about where she comes from as long as she votes to kill the innocent unborn. As a woman, I find it rather amusing that a man, who will never have a child is so concerned about women being able to kill their unborn children. Perhaps men are afraid that if abortion is ever made illegal they will have to stand up and take responsibility for having impregnated the women in the first place. I feel very sorry for those who have been convinced that abortion is no different than putting a sick dog down. Of course the dog had a chance at life. He got to smell the flowers, to see the blue in the sky, to feel the rain on his coat. None of which the unborn child will ever get to experience. They are being pulled apart piece by piece not because they did something wrong but because their mothers couldn't control their impulsed or close their legs. I'm not sure you believe in God, it would seem doubtful by what you said, but whether you do or not does not mean God isn't real. And whether you personally believe or not you will face judgement and somehow when God asked why you allowed the unborn to be slaughtered by the thousands I doubt your saying it was a woman right will change his mind as to where he intends to send you. The mother of an adoptive child, will pray for you.

The SC can't make anything illegal. Congressional vote would have to make abortion illegal. The SC has only said that states cannot make abortion illegal in the first trimester (later changed to viability with the Casey case).

First, a case would have to come up where a state attempted to make abortion illegal before viability. Then, the law would have to be challenged by someone, specifically a case where a woman was attempting to get an abortion. Then the case would have to work up to the SC. Then the SC could overturn the earlier Roe v. Wade. This would now make abortion up to the laws of the states, unless Congress chose to implement a law legalizing or forbidding abortion nationwide. It would simply move the argument from the court to the state or national legislatures.
