Next week, the general counsel to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in New Orleans, Wendy Vitter, will appear before the Senate for her confirmation to the federal district court President Trump appointed her to. Judicial nominations continue to be perhaps the most successful and lasting accomplishment of President Trump and the Republican Congress have offered Americans. Vitter is no exception to this.
But because she is so impressive, it stands to reason that the most backwards and repulsive outfits in the country would rise up to oppose her. Cue the advocates for legal child killing, Planned Parenthood:
“Wendy Vitter is dangerous, untrustworthy, and unfit for a lifetime appointment as a federal judge. Vitter’s record of opposing women’s health and rights is far outside the mainstream,” Dana Singiser, vice president of public policy and government affairs for Planned Parenthood, said in a statement provided to The Hill. “The bottom line is that Vitter can’t be trusted to be unbiased or fair-minded.”
LOL. “Far out of the mainstream” – coming from the organization that recently demanded a Disney princess who stops off at an abortion mill before heading to the ball.
Their heartburn over Vitter is that she has participated in pro-life events in the past, including serving as moderator for a panel discussion on the dangers of abortion. That’s why she, “can’t be trusted to be unbiased or fair-minded.” As opposed to who? Judges that have met the Planned Parenthood requirement of pledging to defend abortion rights?
Is it that the leadership of the nation’s largest child-killing mill doesn’t realize that it’s pathetic inconsistency to suggest a judge who announces a prior commitment to defending Roe is capable of being unbiased while a judge who possesses a commitment to opposing the horrors of abortion is not? Or is it that they think everyone else in the country is too blind to see it?
What they want, of course, isn’t an unbiased judge; they want those like Ruth Bader Ginsburg – glaringly biased to their side.
It seems worth pointing out again that these same charlatans so exercised about a woman judge who about to receive a position in the federal government that she could use to curtail abortion have absolutely no hesitation taking millions of tax dollars from the federal government to promote it.
Vitter’s imminent confirmation notwithstanding, the fact that that injustice remains uncorrected by the Republicans controlling Congress and the White House is simply unforgivable.
