BREAKING: Gunman Shoots Paramedic in East Dallas. What We Know:

WFAA, an ABC affiliate in Dallas, Texas is reporting that a gunman opened fire on Dallas Fire Department paramedics in the vicinity of the Dallas Fire Rescue Training Academy in East Dallas near Dolphine Rd and I-30 this morning. The shooting reportedly occurred around 11:30 a.m.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed to the station that one firefighter was shot and had been taken to Baylor University Medical Center. The firefighter was reportedly in surgery and his condition was not known. A tweet by the Dallas Police Association at 12:55 p.m. reported that other firefighters were “pinned down.”

Dallas Police are currently searching for an active shooter in a neighborhood east of the training center. Police reportedly have a house surrounded on Reynolds Ave. and have put out a “citywide assist” call.

Five Dallas police officers were killed in an ambush in July 2016 incident. That shooter was killed by police.
