Just when you thought we were safe from him, Joe Biden opened his mouth again . That’s right, Crazy Uncle Joe held forth on gun control on The Today Show on Monday, and as is typical of today’s Democrat Party, he told us that the hero of the Texas church massacre shouldn’t have been carrying the gun he had.
That’s right, forget the heroism of Stephen Willeford; Biden thinks he shouldn’t have been in a position to go after shooter Devin Kelley in the first place.
In the clip, an audience member asked, “How do you justify the Democratic view on gun control when the shooter was stopped by a man who was licensed to carry a gun?”
Biden’s reply not only relied on the old Democrat “assault weapon” saw, but he also managed to point to himself.
“Well, first of all, the kind of gun being carried he shouldn’t be carrying. Assault weapons are… I wrote the last serious gun control law that was written and was law for ten years, and it outlawed assault weapons, and it outlawed weapons with magazines that had a whole lot of bullets, and so you can kill a whole lot of people a lot more quickly.”
Biden went on to say that certain people shouldn’t have guns, a sentiment that doesn’t exactly explain why he thinks the hero of that horrific Sunday shouldn’t have the gun he had.
The former vice president never expressed gratitude to Willeford, and he never really answered the question.
Once again, a Democrat proves that the heroic act of a citizen is nothing if it doesn’t serve the narrative of gun control. We probably shouldn’t expect any more or less from someone like Joe Biden.
