It makes sense if you think about it. Ron Howard is directing the soon-to-open Solo: A Star Wars Story, and he’s the voice of Arrested Development. So why not mash up the two with him narrating? Disney did just that in a new three-minute video.
The Skywalker family has a lot of problems: Luke falling in love with his sister, Luke’s dad trying to kill him, and Luke hooking up with a “religious cult” by way of a guy who mutilated his dad and then lied to Luke about his relationship with him.
In other words, it’s as if the Skywalkers could be the Bluth family. And Ron Howard is on point in pretending that they are, with him explaining the plot of A New Hope as if he was introducing an episode of Arrested Development. (He gets a plug in for Solo: A Star Wars Story too.)
Speaking of Solo (opening on May 25), projections indicate it will make a lot of money. But even if it doesn’t there are no worries.
After all, there’s always money in the banana stand.
