Healthcare.gov will go down for maintenance during the open-enrollment period according to New York Magazine. The scheduled maintenance operation will take three days. On top of this, the Trump administration has slashed open-enrollment period from 90-days to 45-days.

As the latest effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act founders in Congress, the Trump administration isn’t slowing down its efforts to undermine Americans from signing up for health insurance. On Friday, the administration announced that healthcare.gov, the website most Americans use to sign up for insurance through the marketplaces put in place by Obamacare, would be down for maintenance for 12 hours every Sunday in the middle of the upcoming open-enrollment period.

It is just like the Trump administration to stiff the people of this country for three days of maintenance after having already having stiffed them of 45 days because, as former Mayor Bloomberg saif of Trump last year at the DNC, that is what Trump does best: stiff people. But political sarcasm aside. What happens if there is a technology problem with this three-day maintenance period and three days turns into six or even more? And who is doing the work, anyway? Will it be so shoddy that my data is left open to Trump's criminal friends in Russia and East Europe? We have already had problems with this administration wanting excessive access to people's personal data through our nation's electoral system. Now what? I simply do not trust this administration to do maintenance with my sensitive information.
