SECRET SERVICES CORRECTS JAY SEKULOW: SERVICE WAS NOT PROTECTING TRUMP, JR. AT TIME OF MEETING

The Secret Service corrected Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow after he attempted to throw the organization under the bus for not screening Donald Trump, Jr.’s meeting with a Kremlin-connected attorney.

Speaking to ABC’s “This Week”, Mr. Sekulow said, “If this [meeting] was nefarious, why’d the Secret Service allow these people in?”

In response, Secret Service spokesman Mason Brayman said, “Donald Trump, Jr. was not a protectee of the USSS in June 2016. Thus we would not have screened anyone he was meeting with at that time.”

The Secret Service protects members of a candidate’s immediate family within 120 days of an election.
