A Brooklyn woman is heading to Rikers Island for six months after pleading guilty to attacking two Muslim women in September of last year.
Emirjeta Xhelili, 32, pleaded guilty Thursday to assault as a hate crime for trying to rip hijabs — traditional head coverings — off two women walking with their children in Bath Beach.
Xhelili screeched "get the f--k out of America, b-----s" and "this is America, you shouldn't be different from us," during the Sept. 2016 attack.
New York Daily News reported at the time of the incident that Xhelili's social media account was rife with hateful rhetoric toward Muslims and blacks.
- “What is your Allah doing to me? It’s kissing my ass,” one of the messages reads.
- In another, she refers to “aliens with black skins.”
- “You lucky for a time that is left, for I have counted your days!”
During the attack, Xhelili tried to knock over one woman's stroller, with a 15-month-old baby inside.
“She didn’t even care for the well-being of a baby — that’s how serious this hate crime is,” Assistant District Attorney Kelli Muse said at the arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
