While visiting Florida, President Donald Trump claimed that 'very few people' died due to Hurricane Irma despite evidence to the contrary. Experts assert that at least sixty Americans died as a result of Hurricane Irma according to the New York Daily News.
Speak to this press, Mr. Trump said:
“To think of the incredible power of that storm — and while people unfortunately passed, it was such a small number,” Trump told reporters in Fort Myers. “People thought thousands and thousands of people may have their lives ended, and it’s a very small number,” he added, as he praised the work of FEMA and rescue workers in handling the damage.
