This sounds like a wonderful combination!

I took a closer look at the recipe and photos and think that I would do the topping as a ganache. Maybe add some cinnamon, and then add freshly cracked black pepper after cutting. Super yum!

Yum.... but you lost me at the cracked black pepper.

@Paul93 - black pepper is a fairly common flavoring paired with strawberries (I did not make it up) and there are examples of adding it (as well as pink peppercorn) with chocolate. One simple way to create pairings is to think about flavors that are found in popular dishes, especially in other cultures. For example, balsamic condimento with strawberries (maybe with some mascarpone cheese).
