Between games this season, you’re probably going to want something to do. You can talk about football, you can dream about football, and you can even watch replays on ESPN, but there is nothing quite like seeing it live.

Between games this season, you’re probably going to want something to do. You can talk about football, you can dream about football, and you can even watch replays on ESPN, but there is nothing quite like seeing it live. Still, we’re pretty sure that you will be able to spend a bit of time indulging in the latest video games. Sports games have been pretty awesome for years and they keep getting better! We’re going to look at four of the most popular franchises, some of which you’ve probably heard of already.

NBA2k17

The latest installment of the NBA franchise is developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports This makes a total of 18 installments in the NBA 2K Franchise, and unlike many other sports games in the past, it is available for the five major systems:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 3
  • XBOX One
  • XBOX 360

There is also a version of the game for iOS and Android if you feel like taking it on the go.

FIFA17

FIFA 17 is the first game in the series to make use of the Frostbite engine, and it’s also one of the few to have a functional demo. If you want to give FIFA a try before you commit to buying it, you can look it up on the Windows store, or on XBOX One’s EA Access. There are some differences between the versions, for example, in the XBONE and PS4 version you can play the Squad Building Challenges and use the FUT Champions, but they are noticeably absent from the lower generation consoles.

Madden NFL 2017

Here’s an important question: who isn’t familiar with Madden at this point? It’s one of the most recognizable franchises in the world, published by EA Sports on all of the most common systems including:

  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 3
  • XBOX One
  • XBOX 360

This officially makes the 28th installment in the series, and the cover features the highly recognizable Rob Gronkowski from the New England Patriots. Play a career as your favorite team or just a single game. Remember, like all of the other games in this list, it supports multiplayer!

The Show 2017

Unfortunately, this one is a console exclusive, but it’s a pretty great game nonetheless. It makes the 8th game in the series, and it allows you to simulate the MLB experience. There are several different modes included, like Road to the Show where you create a player and push through to the major leagues. Near the end of the game, you will control an entire organization, pick your teams, and take to the field. The game has a pretty nice soundtrack too.

These cover four different sports, but they’re a lot of fun, and there’s a good chance you’re never going to get bored with them. Pick one up today and use it to ward off that between-game blues that you’ve been worried about.
