New Study Shows How Processed Foods Are Driving Up Cancer Rates
"Packed with chemical additives, the foods bear little resemblance to home-cooked meals. And the more of them an individual eats, the higher their risk of cancer of any type.
Experts believe this is because processed foods, which include packaged meat, pies, sweets and crisps, are higher in fat, salt and sugar.
They also have less of the vitamins and fibre that ward off disease."
My mother was always railing against processed foods when I was growing up, and the typical kid that I was I rolled my eyes at it and said whatever. But as we grow older, we often find that mom was right about a lot of things.
Heavily processed foods are less nutritious and likely damaging to our body chemistry. With it being so popular these days, we have to be more intentional about our food choices if we are to have a good diet.
