Professor Stephen Hawking, the world renowned British physicist & the author of 'A Brief History of Time' has died at the age of 76.

The renowned scientist was known for his contributions to the study of the universe, from the origins of the cosmos to the mysterious nature of black holes.

Hawking’s career spanned more than five decades & refused to slow down even as a debilitating neurological disease gradually paralyzed him & confined him to a wheelchair.

His prominent place in popular science came about after his book 'A Brief History of Time' became an unexpected best-seller after it's accessible explanation of time, space & science's search for a 'theory of everything' resonated with the public.

'We can't go on ignoring inequality, because we have the means to destroy our world but not to escape it...

To do that, we need to break down, not build up, barriers within & between nations. If we are to stand a chance of doing that, the world's leaders need to acknowledge that they have failed & are failing the many. With resources increasingly concentrated in the hands of the few, we are going to have to share more than at present.' - Stephen Hawking.

RIP.
