A battle over cattle and land rights erupted in a stand-off between armed federal agents pointing tasers and citizens holding cell phone cameras in a compelling video posted to Youtube Wednesday.

The skirmish began Saturday when Bureau of Land Management officials began seizing a rancher’s cattle in Nevada, claiming it owns the land and that the rancher owes more than $300,000 in grazing feed going back two decades.

But rancher Cliven Bundy, 68, who says his mormon ancestors lived on the land before the BLM was created, refuses to pay a dime, leading to the impoundment of 134 cattle.

When Bundy’s son tried to video record federal agents seizing his father’s cattle, he was arrested.

According to KSL.com

Logue said Dave Bundy was taking pictures and recording on his iPad when he was asked by federal employees what he was doing. Logue said that Dave Bundy told the BLM workers that he was “exercising (his) First Amendment rights.”

“He did not resist arrest, but they continued to beat him,” Logue told KSL. “They put him on the ground and were standing on his head and had a dozen officers on top of him and dogs.”

The Bundy family was asked to leave the premises after Dave Bundy’s arrest. Logue said that there were snipers and uniformed men on the scene during the cattle impoundment.

In the latest video, several of Bundy’s family members take a stand against several federal agents armed with tasers and holding dogs.

According to one activist at 2:50 in the video:

“I just saw federal agents throw my aunt on the ground. I saw my cousin get tased three times. I saw them pull dogs and sic them on a pregnant woman,” said one of the activists beginning at 2:50, although that part wasn’t captured on video, saying he was purposely struck by multiple vehicles.

“They are the aggressors, we are not the aggressors.”

But what is captured on video is the resilience of the protesters, almost every single one of them armed with a cell phone camera – including some annoyingly holding their phones in the vertical position – telling the feds to “get the fuck out of here” and “you need to leave now.”

And sure enough, the feds got into their vehicles and left.

But you know they’ll be back.
