Scotty, I have a problem that I need help with. I have a 2006 Dodge Charger RT. It has been a great car for me but I am currently having a problem that nobody seems to be able to diagnose. When I am coming to a stop light, stop sign, etc., I take my foot off of the throttle. Instead of the engine slowing down as the car slows down, once it gets to 1300 RPM's, it almost acts like it's in cruise control. It will try to maintain whatever speed it's going in the current gear at 1300 rpm. I hit the brakes and it will eventually downshift but will then try to maintain speed at 1300 rpm's in the lower gear. It will do this until I come to a stop at which point it will finally idle normally at 800 rpm after almost stalling. It acts exactly like it's in cruise control trying to maintain 1300 rpm. It will pull even when I'm braking. It obviously makes stopping the car much harder. It has even stalled 3-4 times when coming to a stop like this. However, when I put it in auto-stick so I can manually shift gears, it does not do it at all. It acts like it's supposed to act. The problem only happens when I'm in full automatic. It's driving me crazy and making the car not very much fun to drive. Any ideas or help you can give me would be very much appreciated.
