My father is building a kitplane using a modified corvair engine using dual coils. We had it running a couple of years ago using a single coil, but due to the nature of the engines use, redundancy is necessary on the ignition side. my question is about setting static timing. Should the dwell setting read "0" when the points are open when cylinder 1 is at TDC, or should it read 25 (per design specs). We are thinking the coils are set up backwards preventing proper spark (plugs were fouled after trying to start, and wires have continuity). Thanks in advance for your insight!
