Hi Scotty. Love your YouTube channel. I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado that has been running poorly since I got it about a year ago. It idles poorly, gets poor gas mileage and sounds like it's running a cylinder short. So, I brought it in to my mechanic. He did a compression test on it and said #7 was putting up zero pressure. He recommends getting a new engine. He wants to charge me $4000 for a used engine. That includes tax and install. Any thoughts?

Thanks

waay too much for a used engine. Call junk yards directly, like here in houston, used engines go for 800 bucks and Mexican garages will install em for less than a grand

Ok. Does one dead cylinder usually mean dead engine?
