Hi Scotty,I have a manual 96 ford ranger I bought for peanuts to get me through hurrican Irma. Now, when I turn my car on, I hear what sounds like water passing thru hoses! I hear the noise even more when I jiggle my shifter lever! It's bizarre. Could it be I need to flush my clutch, coolant or need a new transmission?? Thanks Scotty.

P.s. it's been shifting rough lately, would a new master/slave cylinder and proper burp aid that issue or would a new tranny be the better option? Thanks.

check to see if you are low on coolant, that will slosh air in the heater core and make noise like that. As for shifting, if clutch is tight, odds are the master and slave are fine but it needs a new clutch plate and disc
