Hi Scotty,
I have a 2004 CHEVY venture van. I have never serviced the tranny since I bought it in 2006. I had a mechanic tell me since I've never changed the fluid or replaced the filter, and it has never leaked NOT to change it. He said it would result in putting in a new tranny. The van has app 194,000. How true is this?
Thanks in advance
CJ.

god i would never go without changing filter and fluid about every 6 months.. i learned that from a tranni man ...he said maintenance is cheaper than replacing a tranni...so true...you really need the filter for one at this point...secondly if your scared just save have the tranni fluid filter it out and put one half new syn fluid.. so its half and half til another 6 months...thats what i would do and have done when buying a used car.. otherwise you will just burn it up if you never change it...

the tranni will run hot and not shift right if you dont...and it just burns up..you choose
