2012 Toyota Highlander 63000 miles. Right headlamp burns out if headlight is on while running car through the car wash. So I turned the headlights off, and no recurrence. Yesterday, driving in heavy rainstorm, headlamp stops functioning. I am presuming that it's water leaking through and hitting the hot bulb. What's your theory and how do i fix it? Thanks!

do check for water, and if so, either buy a new aftermarket plastic lense assembly, or try to seal leaks in with clear silicone sealer

I don't see any obvious signs of water. Plus, wouldn't water hitting the bulb directly cause the bulb to shatter (this has happened to me with a regular light bulb). That makes me think that water is entering the assembly (so still have a leak somewhere) and causing a short. Does this make sense?
