While getting her kids ready for school one morning in November, Kim Massicotte and her husband Eric left their two little boys at the table drawing. When mom came back, though, she saw where six-year-old Rhys decided to show his little brother how to draw a house...on the wall.
At first mom was really upset by the impromptu wall art, but then she took a step back. Says Kim, “At some point you just have to accept that you can’t correct every single mistake, because that would be my full-time job.”
So instead of yelling at the boys, or grounding them, or even making a big fuss over the picture, mom got to work with her craft supplies. When Rhys came home from school, mom had framed the picture...
...and labeled it as one would in a museum.
She made sure Rhys knew this was a one-time thing, and that all future artwork had to remain off the walls, to which Rhys responded, "I prefer paper anyway."
Dad thought mom's response to the drawing was brilliant, and tweeted it out for the world to see!
