This distillery creates liquor from discarded cakes. Misadventure Vodka began in California, the founders wanted to tackle food waste. They set their sights on nearly stale baked goods, which most of the time end up in the dump.
Misadventure vodka collects aging breads and cakes from local food banks each week, then converts the starches into alcohol through fermentation. Each bottle of vodka contains two pounds of food waste that would otherwise go into a landfill!
It's all part of what they call Hedonistic Sustainability.
