Harry Potter Hedwig Owl Knitting Pattern

What you need

4 50g balls of ( Panda Swansea)
6mm needles
Small amount of toy fill .


Begin at the bottom

Using 2 strands of yarn

Cast on 30 stitches

Using garter stitch throughout

Knit one row into the back of each stitch

Knit 4 rows

( knit 3 knit twice into next stitch ) to the end (37 )

Knit 12 rows

(Knit 3 knit 2 tog) to the end (30)

Knit 4 rows

(Knit 3 knit 2 tog) to the end. (24)

(knit 3 knit 2 tog ) to last 4 stitches knit 4. (20)

Knit 6 rows

(Knit 2 knit 2 tog ) to the end ( 16)

Knit 1 row

Thread yarn through stitches and fasten off

Leave the bottom open and stitch up the side

Fasten off and secure

Fill with wadding nice and firm.stitch around the bottom and secure .

Make 2 ( wings )

Cast on 3 stitches

knit 1 row

Knit twice into 1 st and last st (5 )

Knit one row

Knit twice into 1st abc last stitch. ( 7 )

Knit 1 row

Knit twice into the 1 st and last st ( 9 )

Knit 4 rows

Knit twice into first st (10 )

Knit 1 row

Knit 2 tog 1st and last st (8 )

Knit 1 row

Knit 2 tog 1st and last st (6)


Use white or cream felt for the surrounds of the eyes and tan felt for the beak.

I used teddy eyes for the inner eye but you could use felt or a bead.
