Local DACA Recipient Fights Federal Policies to Preserve Her American Life

Maria Torres is a young woman who, like many college seniors, is eager to enter the workforce and put her years of schooling to good use. She has a mechanical engineering degree that will almost certainly land her a job that others covet. But, unlike the majority of her classmates, she can only cross her fingers while she waits for Congress to approve her DACA extension before she can graduate from WSU - Tri Cities and start her professional career.

Having lived in the United States since she was five years old, Maria is giving all that she has to ensure that she and others like her can continue to live, study and work in the United States.
