WATCH: Officer Escorting President Trump Crashes - Trump Refuses To Fly 'Til He Talks To Injured Cop

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Robert Turner speaks to President Donald Trump.

Indianapolis, IN - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer Robert Turner was one of the officers escorting President Donald Trump through the city on Wednesday when he crashed his motorcycle on I-70.

With the officer down on the interstate with a broken ankle, it appears that a photographer decided to take pictures of the injured officer, rather than help him. A photo shows the officer lying on the pavement alone and in pain.

Daily Mail lists the photo as being taken by an AFP photographer.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department posted to social media on Thursday that President Trump delayed taking off until he spoke to Officer Turner and thanked him for his service.

IMPD posted a video of the wounded officer speaking with the president with the following information:

#BREAKING - Video of injured Officer Turner speaking with President Donald J. Trump. POTUS delayed taking off from #Indy until he was assured Officer Turner was ok and he also called and spoke with the Officer. #ThankYou

On behalf of the IMPD, we would like to take an opportunity to thank President Donald J. Trump for his thoughtful act in delaying his departure in Air Force One until he was assured that the officer injured in the motorcade accident was ok.

Calls were made by his staff to Chief Bryan Roach checking on Cycle Officer Turner. President Trump even took the time to speak with Officer Turner after the accident, to check on him. Thank you for your compassion, concern, and leadership Mr. President!
