“You don’t know how lucky you are, man,” a police officer can be heard telling Adolphus Washington in the video.
“Why in the hell would you have that gun in your hand when a cop is standing right in front of you?” another police officer later asked the NFL player in the video after he was in the back of the police car.
In the video, Washington said he already had the gun in his hand and was putting it away.
Washington is accused of improperly carrying a concealed firearm when he was near Splash Park, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
The newspaper cited a Sharonville police report, that stated that Adolphus Washington "reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle; just feet away from officers. The suspect did not inform officers beforehand."
The newspaper stated that the police were clearing out the crowd from the park’s parking lot at the time of the arrest at about 10 PM. He was released later the night of his arrest, police said.
The Buffalo Bills said in a statement that they wouldn’t comment because it was a pending legal matter.
Adolphus Washington finished his first year in the NFL in 2016 and was a star football player at Ohio State and a third round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Washington was cited on Dec. 9, 2015 for solicitation of prostitution in Columbus. The police stated that Washington replied to an online ad for an escort that was placed by the police. Adolphus Washington agreed to pay the undercover officer $100 for sex, the newspaper reported.
