Dinwiddie County, VA - Mass panic occurred after shots were fired for about "20 minutes" at a Lil Boosie concert at the 2nd annual Spring Fest event at the Virginia Motorsports Park on Saturday night.

First responders on scene sent out a "mayday call," prompting a response for a mass casualty incident. The event left many people saying that they weren't surprised that this shooting happened at a Lil Boosie concert, considering the history of violence surrounding the rapper (see below.)

Shots were fired in multiple locations throughout the park which created the mass panic situation as the crowd of an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 people tried to flee the event.

Multiple vehicles were struck by bullets and there were multiple collisions as people tried to flee in their vehicles.

The call for assistance was made by the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office. Petersburg Police Department, Chesterfield County Police Department, Hopewell Police Department, New Kent County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police, and Virginia ABC all responded.

A witness who was at the Lil Boosie concert said that he heard shots being fired and joined other people trying to flee to safety. He said that there were several people shooting throughout the park and that the shooting must have gone on for about 20 minutes.

The witness said that there no metal detectors at the park entrances and that there were no security pat-downs.

According to 13News Now, police said that two people were actually struck by bullets. One person was injured by flying glass from the gunshots, and another was struck by a vehicle. The extend of their injuries have not been reported.

No suspects have been identified at this time.

Rapper Lil Boosie is known for his anti-police views and criminal history. After the three Baton Rouge Officers were assassinated in July 2016, he said that cops would keep getting killed until they changed. He also said that people are angry about police brutality and what he called cops getting away with murder, according to Grapevine.

On June 17, 2010 Lil Boosie was indicted for first-degree murder of Terry Boyd. He also faced charges for three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, three counts of conspiracy to commit possession with intent to distribute, and two counts of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution.

Prosecutors stated that that believed that Boosie may have been involved in at least 5 other murders "over turf."

“We’re investigating the others in a similar fashion,” District Attorney Hillar Moore said a the time. “We are investigating the common pattern of these killings and money.”

In November 2011, Boosie pleaded guilty to the drug charges and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. In 2012 Boosie was found not guilty of murder at a jury trial.

Boosie served about 2.5 years of his 8 year sentence, being released in early 2014 and set to be on parole until 2018.

In 2014 he legally changed his name from Lil Boozie to Boozie Badazz.

While recording a rap video in Jacksonville, Florida, in late February 2017, one person was killed and four more were injured in a shooting.

Authorities said that there wasn't a fight at the time, and that filming was just getting started when shots were fired.

"This is like another black person on the street," a nearby resident said, "Ain't no one gonna come forward." Nobody was reported as coming forward, despite many people having their cell phones out filming at the time.

Considering the history of violence surrounding Lil Boosie, I wouldn't be surprised if cities start denying him permits to perform.
