Milwaukee, WI - Cell phone video captured an arson in which a man was murdered on Friday in Milwaukee (video below.)
Police responded to 12th and Wright on Friday around 7:45 PM for an woman who set a house on fire, according to Fox 6 Now. A 72-year-old man, Willie Greer, was killed in the fire. One firefighter was hurt as he worked to extinguish the flames.
Cell phone video captured the incident as a female started busting out the windows of a house.
"We see a lady and she started busting out all the windows on the house," witness Jessie Hinds told Fox 6 Now.
After busting out the window, the woman disappeared into a nearby garage for a short period of time. The woman emerged with a gas can, and as the people nearby realized how serious the situation was, nobody tried to stop her or warn the victims.
"She asks us 'one of y'all got a lighter?' And were like, 'no, we can't help you with a lighter,'" Travonta Richmond said.
"Then she takes the chair, throws the gas can in there and sets the house on fire," Jestopher Hinds said.
As the woman set the house on fire it very quickly went up in flames.
The video shows a woman escape from the flames, and the nearby group realized that a man was still inside. At that point, they decided to try to do something to get the man out, but it was too late. The house was engulfed in smoke and flames.
"We all ran over there and tried to kick down the door, but all the smoke -- nothing we could really do at that moment," Jestopher Hinds said.
The unidentified female suspect is still at large.
