It’s no secret that UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has some of the best striking in MMA. Yet somehow, every new clip of her striking technique tends to leave fan’s jaws on the floor. Though we’re well acquainted with her incredible striking skill, its still always a pleasure to watch her do her thing.
Luckily for us, the champ recently posted a new clip of her recent efforts in the gym. In this clip, she can be seen smashing the focus mitts with coach Katel Kubis at American Top Team. Watch the video at the top of this post.
Jedrzejczyk’s next challenge will occur in less than two weeks’ time, when she will attempt to defend her strawweight title for a fourth time on the main card of UFC 205. She’ll attempt this defense against fellow undefeated Polish fighter Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
When we last saw Jedrzejczyk in action, she capture a hard-fought unanimous decision win from long-time rival Claudia Gadelha, making the third successful defense of her title in the process. Prior to that fight, she defended her title with a decision over Canada’s Valerie Letourneau, and a brutalization of Jessica Penne. She captured the title in March of 2015 with a second-round assault of inaugural strawweight champ Carla Esparza.
Jedrzejczyk’s looming challenger, Kowalkiewicz, was last seen in action in July, when she nabbed a split decision win over Rose Namajunas. Prior to that win, she scored two Octagon wins: one over Canada’s Randa Markos, and another over a game Heather Jo Clark.
Jedrzejczyk and Kowalkiewicz’s title fight will be the first of three on the UFC 205 bill. The second will see Tyron Woodley defend his welterweight crown against streaking karate specialist Stephen Thompson, while the third will see Conor McGregor challenge Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight throne in the main event.
Do you think Jedrzejczyk keeps her title at UFC 205? Sound off, PENN nation!
