As the media has been covering the highly anticipated fight, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe picked their favorite to win the bout long before the fight was made official and continued their argument on a recent episode of their “Undisputed” show.
“Even though I do not believe Floyd will take this fight to him, I don’t believe Floyd believes that Conor McGregor has a chance to beat him. He going beat the brakes off Conor McGregor,” said Sharpe. “You know what, I’m gonna love it and you gonna hate it.”
Bayless went on to say that McGregor doesn’t have any brakes on him and Sharpe questioned what happened in the first fight between McGregor and Diaz.
“A guy who outweighed him by, I’m gonna guess 40 pounds? And had, what, five inches of reach on him and got him on the ground. It’s called wrestling. Sumo-style wrestling. And, he just pinned ‘em. He pinned ‘em.”
Sharpe went on to point out that Diaz hurt McGregor with punches, which is why the fight ended up going to the ground.
“He didn’t, he didn’t knock him down. He got a hold of him and dragged him to the ground.”
Surely an interesting analysis of the first McGregor vs Diaz fight, don’t you agree?
Fortunately, for Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather will not be using any sumo-style wrestling in their boxing match on August 26.
