As much as it may pain the left to say they agree with any sentiments uttered on Fox News, a monologue delivered by Neil Cavuto and addressed to Donald Trump on Thursday contained a lot of statements that even the most liberal among us will be hard pressed to find fault with.
Cavuto called out Trump for his near constant “fake news” outbursts while he himself is constantly saying and tweeting what amounts to a bunch of fake news or as most people like to call it lies.
The Fox News host asked, “How can you drain the swamp if you’re the one that keeps muddying the waters?”
He then goes on to list off a few of the many, many things that Trump didn’t know about...until he did like the “$130,000 payment to a porn star” or how he didn’t say the Russians didn’t meddle in the elections. Cavuto continued on and on pointing out many of Trump’s inconsistencies and downright lies.
Cavuto agrees with Trump that some of the media outlets might be out to get him, but then blames Trump for giving them so much ammunition saying the opposition uses “your own words to bash you.”
He closes with some strong words:
“Your base probably might not care. But you should. I guess you’re too busy draining the swamp to ever stop and smell the stink you’re creating. That’s your doing. That’s your stink, Mr. President, that’s your swamp.”
