WATCH entire 19 minutes if you want to understand the danger of the latest attempt to destroy the Internet as we know it.
Or speed up to 15: 20 when John Oliver calls ALL Internet users to unite again.
FCC made it very difficult to "express" your opinions and that's why John Oliver bought the URL
Simply go there - it will allow you to express your opinion to FCC.
Tell the that you support existing Net Neutrality protections and that you oppose the changes proposed by new FCC Chairman Ajit Pai aka the guy with a gallon coffee mug (Watch entire John Oliver's clip to get this reference - you will laugh hard)
"Net neutrality is the core principle that protects our free speech on the internet, and ‘Title II’ of the Communications Act is what provides the legal foundation for real net neutrality. Without strong Title II net neutrality rules, Big Cable companies like Comcast and Verizon will be able to block, censor, and control what we see and do online. "
If you prefer a more serious tone, read what Robert Reich thinks about this:
Folks, this is not a drill. Trump's FCC chairman Ajit Pai is moving full speed ahead with a plan to end Net Neutrality, the single most important safeguard against corporate control of the internet. In a statement, Pai, a former telecom executive, defended the rollback, "Under my proposal, the federal government will stop micromanaging the internet.” Don't believe it for a second. His plan is nothing more than a huge win for cable companies that would drive up prices and jeopardize equal access to the internet.
If the plan goes through, internet service providers would be able to charge websites a fee to reach consumers over faster Internet speeds. This new power (something cable giants have wanted for years) would give corporate executives enormous power over what the American people can access and share online.
In an obvious attempt to sneak the repeal past an unsuspecting public over the holidays, the final vote is scheduled for mid-December. That means we have less than a month to stop this travesty. You can make your voice heard by visiting:
REMEMBER - at the core of the fight against #NetNeutrality is CORRUPTION!
Why are they doing it? Because they're corrupt. Because they're sellouts - that's why they're doing it. Because the revolving door - at some point Ajit Pai is gonna leave this position as head of the FCC and he's gonna go get paid by one of these internet service providers who he's serving at the moment.
