Rodong Sinmum, a ruling party newspaper in North Korea, said that US President Donald Trump deserved the death penalty after calling the nation a "cruel dictatorship". The state media also lashed at Trump for calling its leader Kim Jong-Un "short and fat". This was mentioned during Trump's speech in Seoul, South Korean in from of its legislators.
The visit is part of a marathon five-nation Asia tour by the US President. He aims to galvanize regional opposition to the North's nuclear weapons ambitions. In so doing he also cancelled his visit to the inter-Korean border.
“The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership,” the editorial said.
“He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people,” it added.
