Trump's America: The most hypocritical 'shithole country' of them all

Statistics show America has more in common with the "shithole countries" than Norway.

By now, you’ve probably heard Trump has labeled certain African countries, El Salvador, and Haiti as shitholes. Trump would prefer those attempting to immigrate to America be from countries like Norway instead, but Trump is so out of touch that he doesn’t realize the US, statistically speaking, has a whole lot more in common with the shitholes than with Scandinavia.

Let's take a look at some figures:

• The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate of developed countries with American women being SIX TIMES more likely to die giving birth than those in Scandinavia, and due to our lack of mandatory paid maternity leave, 1 in 4 women goes back to work just 2 weeks after giving birth.

• 41 million people in the U.S. are living in poverty.

• Our school children rank 38th in math and 45th in literacy.

• 987 U.S. citizens were shot and killed by the police in 2017.

By many world standards, the U.S. doesn’t fare much better than some third world nations. Add in a racist leader accused of sexually assaulting 19 women that uses vulgar language in official meetings to insult bordering nations and allies alike, and U.S citizens live in a country that very much resembles, as Trump so eloquently put it, a shithole. Trump wants to limit the poor or "unworthy" from entering America, but he may find that all the “exceptional immigrants” end up attempting to flee to Norway.
