"Twitter won’t, and shouldn’t, ban the President. But it’s interesting to read his tweets next to their public policy guidelines. It’s a complex problem of how you run a platform designed for informal sharing that has become the place for global policy pronouncements (and threats)."
And here is the latest, unfortunately NOT a fake tweet from the current POTUS - as real as realDonaldTrump.
All that would be funny, at the expense of the old demented grandpa at any family event, but this deranged old man has a following cultists ready to drink Kool-Aid and an entire court of sycophants. Last but not least - he has access to nuclear war "button".
Trump's presence on Twitter reflect our world with dual standard regulations... One for all of us (normal basic people / standard users) and one for powerful people ( the super users) at the top who can apparently get away with anything. Twitter is probably looking at huge traffic ratings (money) and a few threats from the White House if the ever take steps to block such tweets... Either ways it sends out the wrong signal to let all this happen and it probably will lead to even more aggression. Everybody is more on the edge.
Dear Twitter execs - one day you will be sitting around this campfire - drawn for The New Yorker by a brilliant cartoonist, Tom Toro.
In the words of Bob Dylan I will ask:
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good?
Will it buy you forgiveness?
Do you think that it would?
Oh, I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made will never buy back your soul
