NRA convention snowflakes boycott restaurant for pledging money to gun-control

I guess these NRA members need a safe space now.

The NRA held its annual convention in Dallas this year, and one Dallas restaurant isn’t loving it. Ellen’s, a downtown establishment, decided to donate a portion of its profits and wanted to let its customers know by printing it on the receipt:

“Thanks for visiting Ellen’s! A portion of this week’s proceeds will be donated to organizations dedicated to implementing reasonable and effective gun regulation.”

Not exactly fighting words, but the NRA sure threw a hissy fit over them. The group took to Twitter to voice their outrage with the restaurant’s call for sensible gun control laws, urging their members to avoid the eatery:

The owner of Ellen’s, Joe Groves, isn’t all to put out about it because the NRA attendees are terrible human beings. He wrote on Facebook about some of the things he has witnessed, “I’m making a list of the vile, racist, moronic conversations overheard from NRA attendees eating at the restaurant. They don’t even speak softly.”

What kind of vile, racist things is he referring to? Well, one diner asked a Latino staff member if the “illegals” were “kept in the kitchen,” another NRA attendee asked a black employee if they were from India because they “don’t sound black,” and another NRA member said, “the only reason we need our guns is because of the blacks.”

It isn’t really a surprise that the convention members would be so disgusting since bigotry and racism are pretty much par for the course when it comes to the NRA. Board member and spokesperson, Ted Nugent, has made many a racist comment and often uses racial slurs. In fact, he released his new gun brand at the convention: American Spearchucker Series. “Spearchucker” is a derogatory reference to people from Africa.

Trump’s buddy Ted isn’t the only scumbag leader in the NRA, not by a long shot. The Head of the group, Wayne LaPierre likes to refer to areas of New York as proof that “looters ran wild” or make ridiculous claims about the dangers of “Latin American drug gangs.” LaPierre even attacked former President Obama saying, “eight years of one demographically symbolic president is enough.”

It’s no wonder the owner of Ellen’s doesn’t want to hang with that bunch of racist gun-toting Twitter cry babies.
