The NFL team owners have admitted the controversial new policy came about because of pressure from Trump, but so far, the perpetual bragger hasn’t claimed the glory.
The policy states that the players will no longer be allowed to kneel in protest during the national anthem at games, if they do take the field and kneel, they will be subject to fines. Although, the players are allowed to remain in the locker room while the anthem is played. The decision is controversial because many see it as an infringement on the player’s constitutional rights.
The team officials have admitted that the push for the ban was an attempt to appease Trump, but Donny the dotard isn’t claiming the win. “I think the people pushed this forward, this was not me,” claimed Trump on "Fox & Friends."
Perhaps he isn’t taking the limelight because he doesn’t think the fine is enough punishment. Trump seems to want players who exercise their rights to protest deported, not merely fined, saying:
“You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country. You have to stand proudly for the national anthem.”
