A California-based news site that covers China reported a list of censored items which included Animal Farm, another dystopian novel: 1984, the letter ‘N’, and the name Xi Zedong which is a combination of Xi Jinping and Mao Zedong’s names. It is unclear why the letter ‘N’ has been banned, but some think it is possibly being used online as a sign of dissent.
