Why Is Jay-Z Skipping The 2018 Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Is Jay-Z silently taking a stand in turning down an opportunity to perform at the 2018 Super Bowl?

(AllHipHop Opinion) Word on the block is that Jay-Z is not going to be performing at the 2018 Super Bowl. Let us rewind. The initial rumor was that Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake were going to do it together. This makes sense. They are friends. Justin has an album on the way. And Jay-Z dropped 4:44 this year. They have performed together in the past. White. Black. Cool.

However, the latest is that Jay-Z is not going to be performing at the most watched television event. Crazy, right? Now the question is why? Well, first of all it isn’t confirmed. But, there is only one reason that I can think of. It seems like Jay-Z might be standing in solidarity with the people that are boycotting the NFL on behalf of Colin Kaepernick. Now, he may not say it, but we know Jay moves with the people. He had Beyonce have done quite a lot and the new album says it even more clearly.

Jay-Z made his money and will continue to do so. Performers don't even get paid for the Super Bowl halftime show. There’s really no reason for him to cross the boycott line and align himself with the enemy for a good look. Hopefully this is real.

He's not OJ. He's Black.
