The Roots Hit NPR's Tiny Desk To Discuss Political Single "It Aint Fair"

Check out Questlove's thoughts on The Roots' song "It Aint" Fair from the movie "Detroit."

(AllHipHop News) Philadelphia hip-hop band The Roots were the latest guests on the new installment of NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concert series.

The Roots hit Tiny Desk to perform their song "It Ain't Fair" from the critically-acclaimed the motion picture "Detroit."

During the sit-down portion of their appearance, group member Questlove explained how the song was created.

"'It Ain't Fair' was designed to emphasize the importance of social justice through the prism of late-sixties Detroit, which means many things culturally and politically, and also certain things musically," Questlove explained. "Music has the power to express both anguish and hope."

"Detroit" centers around five days of rioting that rocked the city in the summer of 1967.
