#NewFreezerChallenge Helps Rich The Kid Debut On Hot 100 Chart

The collab with Kendrick Lamar sparks a new dance trend.

(AllHipHop News) Popular internet memes like #MannequinChallenge and "Rain Drop Drop Top" helped Hip Hop acts Rae Sremmurd ("Black Beatles") and Migos ("Bad And Boujee") fly up the Billboard charts. Another southern-bred rhymer could see an online craze push his song into Top 40 territory as well.

This week, Rich The Kid found out his "New Freezer" featuring Kendrick Lamar opened at #75 on the Hot 100 chart. The rise of the record comes as the #NewFreezerChallenge spreads across social media, thanks to the original viral video posted by the Virginia dance group known as Hydef.

"Issa blessing!!! #NewFreezer let’s go #1," tweeted Rich The Kid about breaking onto the Hot 100.

The single is the Rich Forever/Interscope artist's first entry on the chart. He is expected to release his debut studio LP this March.

"This will be the greatest album of 2018. Best hip-hop album—you heard it here! There’s no other rapper that will drop a better album than me. No one," Rich told XXL.
