Meek Mill Fans Planning Huge Protest In Downtown Philadelphia

Meek Mill fans have organized a huge protest in Philadelphia to call for the rapper's freedom.

(AllHipHop News) Thousands of Meek Mill fans are planning to rally for the rapper in Philadelphia tomorrow November 13th.

Fans are planning to protest in front of the Criminal Justice Center on Filbert Street in downtown Philly at 5:00 pm.

The gathering will protest Meek Mill's two to four-year prison sentence, for violating his probation.

Meek Mill's lawyers, prominent businessmen and a variety of celebrities have condemned the sentence imposed by Judge Genece Brinkley, who is accused of having a vendetta against the rapper.

The protest comes as a Change.org petition calling for Governor Tom Wolf to review the sentence.

The petition, which has over 300,000 signatures, was launched on Monday (November 6) shortly after Meek was sentenced.

Unfortunately for Meek, no matter how many signatures the petition amasses, Governor Tom Wolf said there is nothing he could do to pardon the rapper.

"Pennsylvania law does not give the governor any unilateral power to review, reconsider or change a conviction,” the Governor's Press Secretary J.J. Abbott said in an email to The Tribune.

“The law provides for individuals to apply to the Board of Pardons, which makes recommendations to the Governor," Secretary Abbott continued. "The petition is seeking an action that is not permitted or possible under current law.”

Meek Mill's lawyers said they are planning to appeal Judge Brinkley's decision.
