(AllHipHop News) Jermaine Dupri is undoubtedly one of the most successful music creators to emerge from Atlanta. The So So Def founder’s track record includes launching the careers of Bow Wow, Xscape, and Da Brat as well as working with Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, and Janet Jackson.
Dupri also produced for fellow ATL natives Usher, TLC, Ludacris, Monica, Lil Jon, and others. So The Rap Game star can rightfully be viewed as an authority on his hometown’s music scene.
While appearing on The Cruz Show, JD was asked to give his Top 5 Atlanta rappers, dead or alive. The Grammy-winning songwriter named himself, Luda, T.I., Andre 3000, and Big Boi.
“It’s interesting that people leave Big Boi off and they just say Andre 3000, but OutKast was a group,” explained Dupri. “Big Boi wasn’t no slouch. I know his lyrics just like I know Andre’s lyrics.”
