Eminem Reveals What Made Him Sign Compton Rapper Boogie

Shady Records boss Eminem explains what made him sign new Compton rapper Boogie.

(AllHipHop News) Compton rapper Boogie is the latest artist on Shady Records, thanks to a pair of critically acclaimed mixtapes released almost two years ago.

Boogie's albums "Thirst 48," "The Reach" "Thirst 48 II" garnered the attention of Eminem and Shady Records upon their releases in 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Em's latest signing grew up a fan of Dr. Dre, YG, Kendrick and The Game and already has a well-known single titled "Oh My."

"Boogie is everything I look for in an MC,”, Eminem said. “Unique voice and point of view combined with crazy wordplay. This is a great fit and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Boogie, who is currently working on his Shady Records debut, explained the recording philosophy which eventually landed him his deal with Shady.

"I think I'm just genuine; I'm an honest person," Boogie told The L.A. Times. "That's my main thing I'm pushing right now. I just, my formula is I'm going to show my flaws and my insecurities, and hopefully, people learn from them. I'm not going to try to hide them."
